Overview
Why This Matters For Your Brand
Need help removing a Google review from your Business Profile? We investigate whether it breaches Google's published content rules, organise the relevant evidence and help you file a clear, accurate report or eligible appeal. A negative rating on its own is not a reason for removal, and Google makes the final decision. Our review removal service is for UK businesses, agencies managing business listings, professional practices, hospitality groups and multi-location operators facing potentially fake, abusive or otherwise policy-breaking reviews. For articles and webpages appearing in Google Search rather than reviews on a Business Profile, see removing negative content from Google search results.
When a negative review probably cannot be removed
Google does not take down a review simply because the business disagrees with a customer's opinion or cannot match an unfamiliar display name to a customer record. Legitimate criticism, poor ratings and experiences reported under nicknames may remain. We screen those situations out early and can advise on a professional public response or broader online reputation repair instead.
How the Google review removal process works
Step 1 — Review and classify. We check the Business Profile, review URL, exact content, possible policy breach, prior reporting attempts and the business's explanation. We identify whether an official removal route is available.
Step 2 — Build a factual evidence file. Depending on the claim, this could include timestamps, screenshots, records showing a review references the wrong location, or authenticated extortion communications. We do not fabricate reviewer activity or claim that an unidentified reviewer was never a customer without support.
Step 3 — Report the review. The authorised Business Profile manager can report through the reviews panel or Google's Reviews Management Tool. The report must use an accurate reason rather than whichever option seems most likely to produce removal.
Step 4 — Track and appeal when eligible. The Reviews Management Tool displays the decision status. When Google reports no policy violation, an eligible decision may have a one-time appeal. Google's instructions allow up to ten reviews in one such appeal; an appeal is not an unlimited escalation channel.
Step 5 — Document the outcome. We record the decision and recommend the next legitimate action, whether removal, response, monitoring or accepting that the review is permitted under policy.
Google's official guide to reporting inappropriate Business Profile reviews sets out the reporting, status and appeal process.
Google review extortion and review-bombing incidents
If a business experiences a sudden wave of poor reviews together with a demand for money, goods or services to make them disappear, this is different from a routine negative review. Preserve complete communications, review links and dates. Google's official review-extortion guidance provides a dedicated form and explains what evidence to collect. Do not pay the person demanding money or promise them anything in return.
Google review removal for multi-location businesses
For franchise groups, care providers, dealerships and hotel operators, we can catalogue suspected policy violations by listing, prioritise the strongest cases and maintain a case register with dates, evidence, decisions and permissible appeals. A repeatable audit and reporting process is often more valuable than repeatedly submitting weak flags across every branch.
What our professional review-dispute service includes
- Policy eligibility assessment before escalation.
- Evidence checklist and factual chronology tailored to the alleged violation.
- Draft report and eligible appeal support for authorised business representatives.
- Case tracking, decision record and post-decision guidance.
- Optional monitoring and triage for groups with several Business Profiles.
Platform reporting itself is free. Our fee is for the assessment, investigation, documentation and case management. No agency can promise that Google will remove a compliant review, and no paid channel guarantees a successful result.
What to prepare for an assessment
Share the public Google review URL, the Business Profile link, the alleged policy violation, any previous report or appeal decision and the supporting documentation you already possess. Do not email passwords, sensitive medical records or unredacted personal data. We can discuss secure evidence transfer separately if the case requires it.
Request a confidential Google review eligibility assessment. For general DIY guidance, see how to remove a Google review; for other platforms, explore Trustpilot removal disputes and Glassdoor review disputes.
Our review-dispute methodology and evidence standards
Before filing a Google report, we review eligibility against Google's published content policies, document the factual evidence and check whether a one-time appeal is available. See our review-removal methodology and evidence checklist. We cannot promise a moderation outcome.
FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Google accepts reports of reviews that violate its content policies. Relevant issues may include fake engagement or impersonation, content unrelated to an actual experience or place, spam, conflicts of interest, harassment, threats, hate speech or certain personal information. The right category depends on the actual review and the evidence available; there is no blanket rule that a one-star review must be deleted.
- Potential competitor or coordinated fake reviews: analyse concrete patterns and available records; suspicion alone is not proof.
- Impersonation or conflicts of interest: record why the contribution may breach Google's policies without speculating about private identities.
- Threats, harassment and exposed personal details: preserve the exact words or screenshots and identify the specific policy.
- Review extortion: use Google's dedicated extortion-reporting process when there is evidence of a demand for payment or favours in exchange for removing reviews.
